This event is a four day celebration in Chatham taking place from Thursday Sept 18 until Saturday Sept 21st. The festivities pay homage to the clever crow. There was a time that the bothersome pests were a problem in Chatham-Kent. The municipality spent thousands of dollars on Crow control. Things have changed and they are no longer the problem we once faced, thanks to the steps taken and garbage containers which are currently being given to every household in Chatham-Kent.
There is so much planned for all ages. Organizers are inviting everyone to attend some of the events and come downtown and watch King St. come alive on Friday and Saturday. There will be world-class buskers on the street and a night market on Friday evening with family friendly entertainment with an array of entertainers and vendors present. There are numerous generous sponsors on-board and the majority of the budget is going toward prizes and entertainment.
The event will be kicked-off with The Olde Crows Tea at the Links of Kent at 11:30 on Wednesday Sept 18th.continuing with the Busker Performance at the Gardens on King St. at 6:30 in the evening followed by the CK’s Got Talent show at 7 P.M. The prizes will be awarded on Saturday night at 8 P.M. before the Busk After Dark show from 9-10 P.M.at the Sons of Kent. There is a charity gala on Thursday evening at 5:30 at the Everest Centre. On Friday the 20th of Sept,, King St. will be closed to traffic with entertainment, vendors and a host of activities taking place.
