Hunting Season Begins in Chatham-Kent Sept. 28/24


September is here and although the boater are still out on the water there is a new kind of boat we are seeing. Hunters are getting their camaflouge boats ready. Although the temperatures are still summer like and those of us who are summer people are trying to stretch the season out, the fall hunting season will soon begin, a sure sign that the temperatures will be changing. 
Waterfowl season is open from the Last Saturday in September to mid-December, while goose season extends into January with an additional week in February. The large amount of rural land in Chatham-Kent makes it possible for residents to enjoy hunting wild turkey, pheasants, grouse, squirrel, rabbit, hare and various other furry creatures. Marshes and diverse wetlands along Lake St. Clair attract thousands of visitors each year. Mitchell's Bay on Lake St. Clair as well as Walpole Island along the St. Clair River are favorite locations as well as Rondeau Bay along Lake Erie.
