The Chatham Armoury will be full of Christmas spirit again this year as in the the last several years but in a new way. Many of us remember the spectacular light show reflected on the Armoury exterior and the live show with Santa and his elves in past years. This year the event planner have moved it inside and teamed up with Merry Magic, a group that is focused on helping the Salvation Army and Camp Vincent. The main mission is that there are no hungry children in school and helping Camp Vincent. Unfortunately today, there are many children who arrive at school having had no breakfast and without a lunch. The organization’s mission is to put an end to that terrible situation. In addition, Camp Vincent had fallen on hard time during and since Covid. Last year they only had 50% of the enrollment needed to get back up and running. If you have ever been or have ever sent your children to a summer camp, you know what a life changing experience it can be.
Thirty-five companies have donated or sponsored decorated Christmas trees for the event. Raffle tickets will be sold and the winners announced on Saturday December 9th. Admission into the Armoury is only $5.00 and children under 2 free. The event runs from Nov. 29 to December 9th when the winners will be announced. Come and enjoy all the Christmas magic in the air. Santa will be there and even a Santa shop where the children can shop for inexpensive gifts for their family members. Check out the schedule of events on the website www.merrymagicevent.com
