The Annual Boothill Country Jamboree August 2- August 6-2018 held in Bothwell has become one of the Biggest Country Music Festivals in South Western Ontario. In its 10th successful year, the Jamboree offers 5 days of camping, 3 days and 4 nights of Country Music featuring some of the Top Country Music Stars. The Highway Men Tribute Band, Washboard Union and Aaron Goodvin plus many more great artists will entertain for the weekend.There will be Red Neck Games, Karaoke, Beach Volleyball and even prizes for the Best Decorated Campsite and Wagon. Fun and Music!
This Summer Country Festival was the dream of one man and his family and has grown into an event that attracts visitors from all over the country. Another example of what we in Chatham-Kent have to offer right in our own backyard.

Art On the Boulevard is taking place Saturday August 4/2018 in the Quaint Lake Erie Village of Erieau with live artist demonstrations happening throughout the day. Over 100 artists are scheduled to show their works at the annual one day event taking place from 10 A.M.-4 P.M. Wander along the tree lined boulevard and enjoy some of our local talent's unique creations. Expect to find everything from paintings to pottery, jewelry, woodworking, stained glass and even a few pleasant surprises. Musicians will entertain the crowd during the event and food will be available for purchase. There will not be a Home Cottage Tour his year. You may want to sample the food booths fare or while you are in the village, visit the local Bayside Brewery overlooking Rondeau Bay with their great ales and delicious food or Molly and Oj's for some great local perch or pickeral, always a favorite!
For you History Buffs, as you know Chatham-Kent is one of the famous stops on the Underground Railway. Uncle Tom's Cabin Historic Site near Dresden commemorates the life of Rev. Josiah Henson (1796-1883).He became famous after Author Harriet Beecher Stowe's book, Uncle Tom's Cabin acknowledged his memoirs as a source for her book. Henson's dramatic experiences in slavery and his abolitionist work in Canada helped make him renowned throughout the world. Emancipation Day Celebrations are being held on Saturday August 4 from 10-4 P.M. Fun for the whole family with an animated Film on Harriett Tubman, Hands on Art for the children, "Flavour of Africa" cooking demos and tasting, a review of Jared Brock's latest book, Road to Dawn on Josiah Hensen, Music by The Motown Boys, and ending with the documentary film "Josiah" featuring the life and achievements of Hensen who risked so much for those caught in that terrible web of Slavery. Emmanciation Day commemorates that special day in history, August 1/1834, marking the end of Slavery in the British Empîre.Free admission.For more information call 519-683-2804
